The curatorial theme for Possessed was inspired by the rampant trend of “selfies” within art exhibitions.
The curator, Lisa Rockford, invited artists to create colorful and provocative 3-dimensional artworks that creatively respond to the narcissism of the viewer. 
Artists were asked to consider how they would entice viewers to interact with or become part of the artwork - either honoring, or critiquing this selfie trend. ​
