Current Calls for Entry
Exhibition opening in early October 2024 at Schmidt center gallery, FAU, to accompany the next presidential election.
Shipping will be covered for artists outside of South Florida.
$20 Entry fee.
Seeking artworks in one or both of the following categories as part of the Political Circus exhibition:
A. CRAFTIVISM: (Craft + Activism) =Coined by crafter Betsy Greer in 2003, Craftivism is a term for artworks made with fiber (what has traditionally been referred to as "domestic arts") processes and motivated out of concern for social justice topics, or counterculture form of protest, typically in solidarity with third-wave feminism, and as a critique of capitalism, corruption, or power structures.
Artworks must be created after 2016. Preference will be given to artworks that relate to “red vs. blue,” key issues in the presidential election, or to presidential candidates.

B. UNRAVELING: Deconstructing the US FlagAlternate versions of The United States Flag, Altered US Flags, or patriotic print used in artworks are all of interest.
