HUMORATORIUM: The Art of Whimsy was a spectacle of visual delights from 34 artists that incorporate wit, humor, irony, or playfulness in process, materials, or subject matter. From inflatables and site-specific installations to painting and animation, these artists embrace creation through playful materials or processes and use humor to enlighten cultural discussion.
Artists were selected through a part juried, part invitational process, by curator Lisa Rockford. Several artists received cash prizes, selected by art professionals from prominent regional institutions.
This exhibition was funded in part by a CIP grant from the Broward Cultural division.
